New York Islanders fans have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with how general manager Garth Snow does his job.

#SnowMustGo is the social media revolution that has consumed New York Islanders Twitter for the last 48 hours. The hashtag is pretty simple to understand. Those who use it want general manager Garth Snow fired.

This has been an ongoing movement. The Isles have not put a serious Cup contending team on the ice for years.

However, the game in Buffalo and the team’s most recent outing against the Red Wings really got the trend going.

The Isles have a pretty poor team on paper. The team is a hot mess right now and seemingly exclusively win games by the skin of their teeth.

The Isles’ electric 7-6 OT win against the Red Wings at home on Friday night is far from a good win.

It was a fantastic hockey game with a fortunate sequence of events for the blue and orange. But it still took them a prolonged power play advantage, overtime, and seven goals to beat the lowly Red Wings at home.

The team won a great game and it was a night we will never forget. But the team is still in trouble.

As the days go on, John Tavares is looking less and less likely to re-sign with the Islanders. That is 100% on Snow. This team is not a contender. Last year’s team was not a contender. The years before that were not contenders and so on.

For the entire Garth Snow era, this team has not been a contender aside from striking lightning in a bottle in the 2015 playoffs. They still only won a single playoff series.

I don’t know if it was the really hot start but seeing how many bad habits this team has on a nightly basis, the #SnowMustGo trend falls at a perfect time and feels right.

It is not often a team wins a game then this stuff still happens but it is the New York Islanders. Their front office is a hot mess and a joke. It has been for a long time.

New ownership got the new stadium deal done. That happened this season and already feels like forever ago. That is how far and quickly this team has fallen.

Isles fans are aggravated.

The team’s effort is mostly on them at this point. It’s a player problem. That is the GM’s job.

Doug Weight has his flaws but needs way more time to develop. Snow is the main cause of the despair this season.

The Twitter revolution is just a bunch of fans using the medium like it’s meant to be used.

Jon Ledecky does not have to even know this Twitter revolution exists. And he does not have to do a single thing even if he does know.

However, Isle fans are fed up. Not only are they fed up, they are vocal about it.

Next: New York Islanders have massive problems exposed

Personally, I’m all for it. Speak up New York Islanders fans! Enough is enough! It’s time to bring back “Drive for 5”! The Isles need to be good again and it all starts with firing Garth Snow.

So, yes. #SnowMustGo. Being mediocre should not be the goal.
