The Redskins have already found their next QB and he’s no stud

I don’t mean to disrespect Alex Smith but the truth is, he’s not an elite NFL quarterback. He certainly hasn’t earned $71 million guaranteed.

The Redskins downgraded at quarterback but found a way not to save much money in the process.

Smith is more than a game manager. He proved that this season. However, he also proved this postseason, that he can’t carry a team to a championship. Smith is 2-5 in his career in the playoffs.

We also mentioned how Cousins never had much success against the Giants. Well, Smith isn’t much better.

Smith has faced the Giants four times in his career and he’s 2-2. However, in those games, he’s averaged just 240.0 passing yards per game with four touchdowns and eight interceptions. Unlike Cousins, Smith has added 24.0 rushing yards per game against Big Blue but he’s also been sacked eight times and had a passer rating of 68.9.

It would be more satisfying for New York Giants fans if Cousins walked in free agency and the Redskins had to scramble to find a quarterback or take a chance on a rookie. However, the fact that they’re going with Alex Smith is not too threatening. It’s actually quite the opposite.
