New York Jets: Five internal free agents worth bringing back
Here are five internal free agents that the New York Jets must re-sign.
The leadership of the New York Jets is at a crossroads this offseason. Both Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan have received contract extensions but make no mistake, one more bad year will likely end their time in New York. This offseason is a big one. Bowles and Maccagnan have to take this team forward or their will be no going back for either one of them. It’s going to be huge.
There is time to get things done. We have the NFL draft coming up. It has begun to feel like a rite of passage for the Jets to select in the number six position. This will make the third time in four drafts that the Jets will select sixth overall. Last year it was Jamal Adams. This year, we know what position it is most likely to be. Unless of course, they sign Kirk Cousins. If that happens, everything changes.
But first we have the free agent period. We certainly will have enough to talk about in terms of external free agents. But what about the internal ones? Surely there are players the Jets want to bring back. And I know there are players we all think should be brought back. They weren’t all bad. Today, we are going to take a look at five players that are unrestricted free agents that the Jets would be well-served to re-sign.
