Who are the five best right fielders in New York Mets history?

The New York Mets have returned Jay Bruce back to the team for 2018. After a slow start in 2016, he found his rhythm in New York last year, hitting 29 home runs and driving in 75 runs before being sent to Cleveland at the end of the year. He is back, and should fit right in both in right field and possibly even first base every once in a while.

He doesn’t appear on the list in the upcoming slides, however. Neither does the guy above. I know, we all get a good laugh every year on Bobby Bonilla Day. Maybe we will pay for a player when they are in a nursing home next. That’s for another discussion. But in all seriousness, being paid every year by the Mets is certainly not reason enough to be on this list. He might be if it were the top 15, but certainly not the top five.

So who is? As we look back through the history of the Mets, there have been a lot of talented players. We have been going around the field and laying out our take on the five best players at each position. Today is the last of the daily positions as we look at right field. There have been some strong ones through the years. Let’s get to the countdown.
