New York Jets: Why Kirk Cousins must be signed for 2018

The New York Jets have a big opportunity this offseason. It’s one they haven’t had in quite some time. Well they have the chance to solve it, but not for a long time has their been this clear of a path to solving it. There is a move to be made that instantly makes the Jets better at the most important position in sports. It’s also the most difficult to evaluate.

Of course , we are talking about the quarterback position. The Jets have taken stabs at solving this problem but as we all know, haven’t been able to. They have just not been able to find sustained success. They have had brief success with the likes of Chad Pennington, Vinny Testaverde and Mark Sanchez. But they have never been able to latch on to that prospect that develops into that ten-year franchise quarterback.

There is a guy that the Jets can sign that will solve that problem now. He is a name the league knows, and the type of player that isn’t available on the open market very often. He is not likely to be back with his current team and the Jets will have the money to spend on him. It’s time to make this move as soon as free agency opens.
