FINAL STATS: 63 RECEPTIONS, 941 YARDS, SEVEN TOUCHDOWNS

More from Empire Writes Back

What a year this young man had? The undrafted free agent out of Temple was thought to be a number two or three wide receiver at best. With 42 catches last season, he flashed of something more but that was about it.

2017 changed all of that. By week three he started to feel a connection with Josh McCown, posting a 95 yard performance on three catches and a 69 yard touchdown. In week seven he started a string of five straight weeks with at least one touchdown. He became not only the team’s top receiving threat but also one of the most up and coming young talents in the league. Teams were starting to show concern when facing Anderson.

His hands were about as good as anyone could expect. In 114 targets, Anderson was credited with only two dropped passes. If you are going to talk about consistency that is about as good as it gets. Whomever plays quarterback knows that they can rely on Anderson to catch a ball that he can get to. That is, by definition, a top wide receiver. We take the grade down just a hair for some of the maturity issues that came up during the year, but not much.
