Here are the final 2017 grades for the New York Jets wide receivers.

It’s evaluation time for the New York Jets. We’ve been here a lot over the last several years. Who knew that when the Jets lost to the Steelers in the AFC title game, it would be the last appearance in the playoffs for a while? Evaluations in January. This team makes us do that a lot, don’t they, Jets fans? Nevertheless, here we are again, figuring out where to go from here.

As always, it’s starts with the player evaluations. We have to know what is on the roster before we can make decisions about players to bring in. How did the group perform this past year? Do they have a good core of players? Is a particular position weak and does it need to be focused on? All of these are the types of questions that Mike Maccagnan and company must answer before they begin to acquire players.

With that, we are going to follow suit and continue our offseason grading. Our first edition included the quarterbacks and running backs. Now it’s time to look at the wide receivers. There wasn’t a lot expected out of this bunch. We wondered who Josh McCown might be throwing to. It turned out better than we expected it to. So, let’s get to the grades. The first student up is the blossoming UDFA.

Note: Only grading significant players still on the team or we know that will be in the Spring. We won’t have Jeremy Kerley on this report, for example.
