Buffalo Bills: 17 Reasons You Should Root For The Bills In The Playoffs
Doug Marrone
The Bills play the Jaguars in the playoffs. Doug Marrone coaches them.
Marrone also coached the Buffalo Bills from 2013-2014 going 6-10 and 9-7 respectively.
He did a good job with the Bills and I’ll even give him respect with how well he has done with the Jags.
But there are only two things that need to be remembered about Doug Marrone’s tenure with the Bills.
It’s not giving the Bills their first winning season in 10 years either.
It’s how he walked out on the Bills after a rocky relationship with the media and the stress of an ownership change.
He opted out of his first head coaching gig in the NFL and a winning team. It makes no sense.
But in 2013 after a loss, Doug Marrone said he was so upset he was not going to pet his dog after the game.
That poor dog. And what an odd thing to say.
Imagine if the Bills beat the coach who walked out on some of these players in the biggest stage on Sunday?
That would be great for a lot of players who want to not only win for their current coach Sean McDermott but beat their former one who left them three years ago.
Again, what a story that would be.
