Who are the five best value draft picks made by the New York Jets since 1977?

It is hard to discuss the history of the New York Jets without discussing the draft. The team has made so many blunders it has become an indelible mark on the franchise. The number of talented players they have left on the board is seemingly endless. Warren Sapp, Emmitt Smith, Junior Seau and Dan Marino are just four of the spectacular names that could have worn the colors, if they had been drafted. But, they weren’t.

That being said, not all of the picks the Jets have made went badly. They did draft Wesley Walker and Freeman McNeil years ago. Darrelle Revis may have loved money, but he showed most of that love after being drafted by the Jets. David Harris was a wonderful player in the same draft. Don’t sleep on the guy in the picture above, Jamal Adams. He is fixing to be one of the best draft picks the team ever made.

But none of those guys make this list today. Today we are going back through history, starting back in 1977. We are looking at the best “value” picks the team has made through the years. To make this list, the player had to be selected in the third round or lower. From the third round there is a lot of room for the player to show value, or show they are worth more than their pick level.

Let’s get to the list.
