New York Jets: Five players to build upon for the future

Here are five players the New York Jets can build upon to achieve future success.

New York Jets fans have reason to smile as they move into the future. No, not because of the record. 5-9, which has a solid chance of becoming 5-11, is never something to be “happy” about, certainly not in a vacuum. Jets fans are hungry for victories and they are tired of waiting. They haven’t seen the playoffs since 2010 and they are getting restless. Jets fans want success or bust at this point.

However, compared to what it was expected to be, the record is quite good. They are about where local bloggers thought they would be (myself excluded), but not where the national experts expected. Some believed that the team wasn’t going to win a game so in that respect, the Jets came up big. Other than the Denver game, the Jets have been an opponent that cannot be taken lightly.

It’s also a good year because some solid talent has been discovered. There are holes to fill and plenty of them. Let’s not kid ourselves. However, the roster is far better than anybody it was and that is thanks to certain individual players. The Jets have gotten bigger production than they ever thought possible for certain players and that gives reason to be excited as they move into 2018 and beyond.
