The writers here at Empire Writes Back got together to give our opinions on what the New York Yankees might do this offseason and how their 2018 roster might look as a result.

The New York Yankees have had a very interesting offseason so far. First, they fired longtime manager Joe Girardi and handed the reigns to former Yankee and ESPN broadcaster Aaron Boone, who has never coached before. Then there was the breaking news that Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani would not consider the Yankees in the sweepstakes for his services. Yankee fans have dealt with some very stressful and disappointing moments since the Houston Astros won the World Series. However, the Empire Writes Back writers still have questions.

What will happen with the upcoming free agents? Will the Yankees make another blockbuster trade? Who will make the Opening Day roster? Some people may disagree with other people’s ideas, but everybody has their own opinion on how the rest of the offseason will go.

Over the past couple of weeks, some of the Yankees writers here at Empire Writes Back have collectively written our 2018 New York Yankees roster predictions. We wrote about which free agents we think the Yanks will bring back as well as bring in, what players they may trade for, as well as what prospects we think will make the roster to start the season.

Everybody, welcome to the New York Yankees 2018 roster prediction roundtable. Hang on and enjoy the ride.

*Update: These predictions were finalized prior to the announcements that Masahiro Tanaka would opt into his deal and that Shohei Ohtani will not be considering the New York Yankees.*
