Time for the weekly three takeaways from the New York Jets victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

How about those New York Jets? Just when we think the tank is back on in full force, they come up with a victory over the team that was once thought of as the best in the league. Yes, the Jets topped the Chiefs 38-31 to send Kansas City back to .500 with a 6-6 record. The Jets took advantage of a porous defense to send two receivers over 100 yards on the way to an upset victory.

Darrelle Revis, frankly, looked just like he did last season with the Jets. There were at least two missed tackles noted during the game and if you watched closely, there were plays were he seemed disinterested. It seemed that he was not sticking his nose in to make a hit when he would have as a younger player. The “eye” test clearly showed that Mike Maccagnan and company were not wrong in their end of the year assessment of Darrelle.

As far as the Jets, there were some interesting tidbits that we could glean from this game. Some encouraging factors are becoming clear and that will help as the team moves into 2018 and beyond. The team has some pieces which seem to be better than we expected them to me when the season opened. It’s good as it will help guide the decision-making process moving forward.

Let’s get to the three takeaways from the game.
