New York Yankees: CC Sabathia’s options this offseason
By Alex Mazer
As Yankee vet CC Sabathia positions himself to hit the open market this offseason, he has a few options to choose from.
With the Yankees managerial search in full swing and the Shohei Ohtani bidding war just getting started, CC Sabathia seems to have zero desire to take away any of that attention for himself to announce his plans for the upcoming season.
So I’ll try to do it for him.
When asked about his preferred time frame to get a new deal done, CC told Dan Martin of the NY Post, “Before spring training. I’m not stressed about it. I’ll just see how it plays out.”
Even-keeled in high-pressure situations on the mound, CC appears to be almost more relaxed off the mound. But after finishing the regular season with a 3.69 ERA, the vet could find himself inciting a potential middle tier bidding war.
Sabathia is entering free agency with a raised stock from his stellar postseason, which has left a lasting impression on GMs around the league and earned him the freedom to choose between many appealing options.
What are those options and which one will CC Sabathia choose?
