Sam Darnold

If the New York Giants aren’t aggressive enough and miss out on Josh Rosen, their fallback plan could be Sam Darnold.

Darnold’s 453 passing yards and five touchdowns in last year’s Rose Bowl but him on NFL radars.

Darnold hasn’t been quite that impressive this season (although no one can put up those kinds of numbers week in and week out). He’s turned the ball over more this year and has forced things a bit.

There is a belief that poor coaching is the cause of Darnold’s struggles this season and that he still possesses all the intangibles necessary to be an NFL quarterback. Perhaps, if Eli Manning sticks around for 2018, Darnold could sit behind him while he works out the kinks.

Darnold was the top quarterback prospect heading into this season and many scouts think that most of what earned him that status is still there.

Once considered a lock to be the next quarterback of the New York Jets, Sam Darnold could instead be leading the other team that calls MetLife Stadium home.
