New York Giants: Who will be the quarterback in 2018?
By Sean Dyer
Josh Rosen
If the Cleveland Browns pass on Josh Rosen first overall, he could be there for the taking when the New York Giants pick third. (The San Francisco 49ers pick second and they just traded for Jimmy Garoppolo.)
Rosen is the top quarterback prospect in the 2018 draft class. He has a strong arm and can throw a great deep ball. He’s also a pure pocket passer and can fit the ball into tight windows.
Rosen is a junior and could elect to go back to school and play for new UCLA head coach Chip Kelly. In all likelihood, though, Rosen will enter the draft and be a top-three pick.

What the Giants need to watch out for, if they are interested in Josh Rosen, is another team trading up into the top two spots and stealing him.
New York missed out on Jack Conklin and Leonard Floyd in 2016 when the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears leapfrogged them. Also, the San Francisco 49ers, who will likely be picking second in this year’s draft, traded away that same overall pick last year to the Chicago Bears so they could draft top quarterback prospect Mitchell Trubisky.
If the Giants want Rosen, they might have to get aggressive and move up a spot or two to draft him. If they do, Josh Rosen could be the New York Giants starting quarterback in 2018.
