Davis Webb

We know Geno Smith isn’t the Giants future quarterback but Davis Webb could be. I’m not saying that he is. I’m just saying that he could be.

In order to find out, Webb needs to get some reps this season. Now that Eli Manning has been relegated to the bench, the Giants need to play Davis Webb. If they don’t get him regular season game action, they’ll have to draft a top quarterback prospect third overall. They can’t defend passing on one of the top guys if they’ve never seen Webb take a regular season snap.

If a new head coach and general manager come in next season for the Giants (a strong possibility), there’s no guarantee that the new regime will see any potential in Webb.

Davis Webb would have to look really impressive this season to convince me that the New York Giants should pass on Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold.

However, as long as he impresses the Giants (John Mara won’t take my opinion into account), Webb could be their starting quarterback in 2018.
