The New York Giants will take on the Washington Redskins in Washington D.C. on Thursday night. An already banged up receiving corps could be without Sterling Shepard in the game.

A full day of football on Thanksgiving will be capped off with the New York Giants and Redskins facing off for the first time this season. The Giants might have to play the game without their top receiver.

Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard is officially listed as questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Redskins. He has been dealing with migraines, which is why he did not play on Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City Chiefs. As reported by Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, head coach Ben McAdoo said on Tuesday that Shepard was still not feeling well.

Shepard’s migraines forced him to sit out the Giants’ practice on Tuesday.

If Shepard does not feel well enough to go on Thursday night, it would be his fourth missed game this season. He missed two games in October due to an ankle injury and then did not play on Sunday against the Chiefs because of his migraines.

The good news is that Shepard did make the trip to Washington. On Wednesday afternoon, Paul Schwartz of The New York Post reported that Shepard has not been ruled out yet.

In all likelihood, Shepard will be a game-time decision on Thursday. It would be a huge blow to the Giants offense if he cannot go. With Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall both out for the season, Shepard has been quarterback Eli Manning’s go-to receiver this year. He has 38 receptions on 51 targets for a total of 475 yards. He leads the Giants in receiving yards this season and is second on the team in both targets and receptions.

The Giants and Redskins will kickoff at 8:30 PM ET at FedEx Field. The decision on Shepard will probably be made a few hours prior to the game. It will all depend on how he is feeling. Hopefully, Shepard will be able to play as the Giants will try and win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
