Kevin Siegrist

Kevin Siegrist was one of the better relievers in baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals before struggling in 2017. His struggles resulted in the Cardinals letting him go and he was picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Siegrist made seven appearances for the Phillies and pitched closer to what we were accustomed to seeing from him.

In total, over the last three seasons, Siegrist is 14-5 with a 2.97 ERA and 199 strikeouts in 175.2 innings.

Like Jake McGee, left-handed hitters have hit better against Siegrist (.251) than right-handers (.192). However, when Siegrist was at his best in 2016, lefties hit just .221 against him.

Siegrist’s down year will lower his asking price on the free agent market. He could be looking to sign a one-year deal to prove his value. Siegrist is an interesting option for the New York Yankees to sign and hope for a bounce-back year.
