Elijah McGuire. A. . .

When most teams hope their sixth round picks will make the roster, the Jets have possibly found a diamond in the rough in McGuire. The third back in the Jets backfield rotation, McGuire has been able to carve out a role in the crowded backfield and has become the team’s got to in-between the tackles runner.

In 2017 he has 259 yards rushing, averaging 3.8 yards per carry and a touchdown. With ten catches, McGuire has totaled 359 yards from scrimmage on 79 total touches.

With the inconsistency of Bilal Powell and the nagging injuries for Matt Forte, Mcguire’s role could continue to increase as we’ve seen him carry the rock 21 times over the past two games.

McGuire has flashed the potential to be possibly be a feature back in the league or at the very least a productive option out of the backfield.

With 359 yards of offense from a sixth round pick, it has been a good rookie campaign for the young tailback that could see his role to continue growing over the final games of 2017.
