Shohei Otani

Done deal. There’s no way the New York Yankees would let the Japanese Babe Ruth get away. Although the new CBA limits the financial advantage that the Yankees had when they pursued Masahiro Tanaka, Cashman would find a way to sign Otani.

A player who’s an ace on the mound and a slugger in the outfield? Put that man in pinstripes.

Otani can join his countryman Tanaka in the Yankee rotation and show off his bat while DHing the days he’s not on the hill.

Based on the current international signing rules, the Yankees have the second-most money to offer Otani so he could still end up in the Bronx despite the Yankees’ “spending limit”.
