2015

2015 was the year of Fitzmagic. It wasn’t fake news yet, though we all learned that it would be. Ryan Fitzpatrick was brought in to backup Geno Smith, but the punch heard round the world changed all of that. This was Ryan Fitzpatrick’s team and it never became Geno Smith’s team again. Time to go to work.

With new weapons added by new general manager Mike Maccagnan, new coach Todd Bowles led his team into battle. The Jets had an early bye, and were 3-1 heading into the bye week. After a win the following week, the season nearly went sideways when the record went to 5-5. However, five straight wins allowed the Jets within one win of the playoffs. They weren’t able to get that win but the season still ended with a quite successful 10-6.

The post bye week record was 7-5 for this group. They gave Jets fans a lot of excitement heading down the stretch. At this point, it left the fans thinking that one more year could see the Jets back into the playoffs. With all these weapons, they just all needed to come back, right? On to 2016.
