Here are three takeaways from the New York Jets loss to Tampa Bay.

The New York Jets fell victim to something that targets many teams around every sport. The Jets played down to their opponent. The Buccaneers entered as an underachieving team with only two wins. Instead of attacking them they had their difficulty. The only one that was out on the field a lot was Lachlan Edwards, the punter. The Jets got nothing going and eventually the Bucs did. It happens a lot in the sports landscape.

Frankly, it was surprising to not see more of an aerial attack, being that the Bucs defense was at the bottom of the league against the pass. I saw this game plan being similar to the one they used against the Patriots. On that day, McCown threw for over 300 yards. In this one he threw for 262 but he didn’t get things going until it was almost too late.

The running game had a rough go of it as well. After playing so well last week, we expected the roll to continue for Bilal Powell and company. But it didn’t. The team only averaged only 2.9 yards per rushing play, and Powell led the team with 30 yards. Nothing got going for this group and the defense was basically left to fend for itself. It seemed like a game from earlier in the season to be honest.

So enough about that, let’s get to the three takeaways.
