Don’t Underestimate the Opponent

Don’t we all miss that face above? Not really is right.

More from Empire Writes Back

This is an ironic reminder for the Jets in 2017. Most of the Jets opponents likely have underestimated them thus far. It’s really not surprising. They let all of their name players go, presumably all of their best players. This roster was supposed to be the worst in the sport, even worse than the Cleveland Browns. It would not be shocking if teams looked past the Jets.

That didn’t work and now the Jets sit at 4-5. They are the ones entering the game as the favorite as they face a team that has had their season blow up in their face. If the Jets aren’t careful they could start looking past the Bucs to their bye week and the tough stretch that lies ahead.

That, ladies and gentlemen, would be a deadly mistake. This Bucs team has talent all over the field. If they figure it out they will be tough to beat. And don’t forget about our old friend Fitzpatrick. Love him or hate him, he is streaky. Lately he gets interception streaky, but we have seen him play well too. If he gets rolling he could bring back memories of 2015. It will be tougher without Mike Evans but they still have the ability out there to get it done.

Don’t sleep on the Bucs, the result could be a problem.
