The NBA Draft

Out of all the strategies in team building, this one might be the most important. As proven by the 2015 Golden State Warriors, the right draft choices alone could transform a team into a contender.

In recent years, the New York Knicks haven’t owned all of their first rounders. Most were thrown into failed trades. The most recent success they’ve had in the Draft was selecting Porzingis. Frank Ntilikina, on the other hand, is a controversial pick. Dennis Smith was still on the board when Phil Jackson selected him, but so far Frank the Tank has shown more positives than negatives. His potential makes him an extremely valuable asset.

Making the right choices on draft night is crucial to team success. In order to make those choices, the Knicks must begin to stash their draft picks. This is not a difficult task, as many teams do it, but New York has a history of giving up countless first-round selections. Drafting a player is just as essential as trading or signing one, if not more.
