New York Jets: Five players responsible for the unexpected strong start

Here is one that has come on in the later weeks. Josh McCown wasn’t given a great deal of snaps during the preseason so the chemistry between him and Robby Anderson took some time. Likely, Jermaine Kearse helped Anderson get things going this year, because he was getting a lot of the targets early on that Anderson wasn’t getting. That has changed lately. Why? Because Robby Anderson has looked good.

Specifically, over the last four weeks Anderson has been developing into the number one receiver that we all hoped he might become. He has caught 17 passes out of 28 targets. As important has been the fact that he can find the end zone. Anderson has scored in each of the last three games, including against the Falcons when he caught all six of his targets for 104 yards.

There are many players on this roster that have played a role in this 4-5 start. Football really is the ultimate team game in that respect. If the group as a whole isn’t together, these types of starts just aren’t possible. Other games can be driven by individuals, but not football. Everyone is important.
