We’re breaking down each of the New York Jets position and units and grading how they performed in their 34-21 Thursday night win over the Buffalo Bills.

Time for the weekly grades for the New York Jets. After an unexpected fourth win, here we go.

A +. . . . Quarterback

It’s not how many times you throw the football, it’s how you throw it. Against one of the best defenses in the NFL Josh McCown didn’t turn the ball over and went 14-for-20  for 140 yards and a touchdown pass. McCown added another touchdown on the ground running for a ten yard touchdown run to get the Jets on the board first.

Over the past two weeks McCown has not turned the ball over and efficiently moved the ball down the field. Recognizing the Bills talented secondary and the seeing how effective the Jets running game was McCown wisely relied on the running game to burn the clock and move the ball on the ground.

Despite throwing for a season low 140 yards, McCown was efficient, mistake free, and made key throws helping the Jets convert on 42% on their third downs to keep drives going.

It isn’t the most impressive stat line, but McCown did everything that was asked of him and made the plays he needed to in order for New York to get the win.
