Healthier Starting Rotation

The biggest need for the New York Mets this offseason is making sure their starting pitchers get healthy and stay healthy.

After firing head trainer Ray Ramirez, the Mets will look to keep its prized rotation on the mound.

When healthy, there is no better starting rotation in baseball than Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey, Steven Matz, and Zach Wheeler. If those guys can stay off the disabled list, Rafael Montero, Robert Gsellman, and Seth Lugo can be used for rotation depth and help out the bullpen.

The problem is, of those eight starters, only deGrom and Montero were able to avoid time on the DL in 2017.

If the starting pitchers that the Mets have stay healthy, there’s no need to add any other arms in free agency. They will have one of the best and deepest rotations in baseball.

Let’s hope that the post-Ray Ramirez era brings better health to the entire roster, especially this ultra-talented starting rotation.
