Mid-Rotation Starting Pitcher

The top of the New York Yankees rotation seems to be in good hands with Luis Severino and Sonny Gray but the middle of their rotation could use some help.

With CC Sabathia, Michael Pineda (yes, him), and Jaime Garcia all set to hit free agency, the Yanks could use another arm.

Re-signing Sabathia could solve the problem but that is no guarantee. Yes, CC said he wanted to come back but that was before Joe Girardi was let go as manager. Who knows what he’s thinking now.

Sabathia’s stellar postseason performance could also get another team to overpay to bring him in. Perhaps his former team, the Milwaukee Brewers.

Regardless, the New York Yankees need to add a starting pitcher. No one will feel comfortable with Luis Cessa or Bryan Mitchell as the fifth starter in 2018.
