The New York Yankees made headlines last week when they announced that they would not be bringing back manager Joe Girardi. So who’s next for the Bombers?

After ten years in pinstripes, one World Series championship, and six playoff appearances, the New York Yankees have cut ties with manager Joe Girardi. The decision is rather surprising considering the Yankees made the ALCS this season. However, it isn’t too much of a surprise seeing he was nearly fired before the Yankees even had a chance to play game three in the ALDS against the Indians.

Many did not like Girardi’s decisions when it came to going to the bullpen, and of course his notorious decision not to challenge the hit by pitch in game two of the ALDS will always be remembered.

Even though the Yankees made the ALCS this season we somewhat knew this was coming. We were all calling for his head when the Yankees blew an 8-3 lead in game two of the ALCS and after he decided not to challenge a hit by pitch call that would have changed the outcome of that game.

Well the Girardi era is over and we must now look for his successor. One thing I can nearly guarantee you is that it will be someone who is already with the Yankees, or someone who is a former player of the Yankees. The Yankees are all about legacy when it comes to anything they do, and this case will be no different.

So let’s take a look at possibilities for the next Yankees manager.
