Who earned their wings in the New York Jets win over the Buffalo Bills?

Now how about that, New York Jets fans? We finally saw them finish a football game. New York took a lead in this one and extended it, for the first time in a month. As surprising as it was for us to watch, they actually extended the lead in this one to 34-7. After a touchdown and an onside kick it got a little bit nerve-racking, but the Jets held on to win it and go to 4-5.

Final. 34. 30. 21. 16

As we do every week, it’s time to pass out some wings. Who earned game balls? If you haven’t been following, we pass out game balls to three players each week in the form of wings. So who earned their wings in this big-time division win?

The entire defensive line: On this night we are doing it like Oprah. “You get wings, and you get wings. Everyone gets wings!” The line was so good, finally, I just couldn’t single out any one player. They all were involved in the running game, holding LeSean McCoy to his worst performance of the season. Leonard Williams notched .5 sack as did Steve McLendon. Muhammad Wilkerson and Kony Ealy each got one. The Jets nearly matched their entire season total in sacks but the line was finally what we all expected them to be.

Matt ForteThe running game was solid for the Jets in this game, rushing for 197 yards as a team. I’m going to give the game ball to Forte who did some of his best ground work of the year, running it 14 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns. His score marked his first in his last 12 games. Welcome back to your high performing self, Matt Forte.

Demario Davis: Davis has been a different player since returning from Cleveland. He entered the game with the fourth most tackles in the league and did not disappoint against Buffalo. He posted eight tackles, six solo, a sack and a fumble recovery.
