Pleading the case for Yes

More from Empire Writes Back

If you’re an optimist, you probably think the Bills will hang on and make the playoffs. I can see how a portion of the people thought this.

The Bills sit at 3-1 in the conference and have maintained pace with the seemingly unbeatable Patriots in the AFC East.

It is not like the 5-2 team in 2011 where it was a weak schedule and a fluke win vs New England.

This 5-2 team is beating good football teams and playing elite defense and every single player has executed perfectly on nearly every snap.

The culture in Orchard Park feels different. It feels real and Coach McDermott refuses to admit that 5-2 is a finished record he knows they are not done yet.

So, for all those reasons I can see why 37% of the voters are confident that the Bills will make the playoffs.
