Here are five candidates to replace Joe Girardi as the New York Yankees manager.

For anyone who hasn’t been paying attention, the New York Yankees are in the midst of a managerial search. After ten years and 910 wins, Joe Girardi will not be returning to his post in the Yankees dugout. Over the decade in the Bronx, Girardi led the pinstripes to one World Series title. There were emotions that ran high with this manager, and there were times when there were questions about whether or not Girardi would return. His most recent contract ended after the 2017 season and the Yankees are going another direction.

Could it have been a money issue? According to Yahoo! Sports, Girardi’s monetary demands took him out of the running to be the Nationals manager. Could that have been a problem behind the scenes in his New York discussions? Possibly. It was initially pushed as a “mutual decision” but in the end, who really knows? All we know is that it is time to search for a new man to lead the pinstripes.

So who is next? Who is going to be leading the Yankees into the future? Here we look at five potential candidates.
