New York Jets Week 8 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
Remember when the New York Jets didn’t use tight ends for years? My how the times have changed. Not only has Austin Seferian-Jenkins solidified himself as a legitimate number one tight end, but backup tight end Eric Tomlinson has been a very good addition as a blocking tight end.
Tomlinson also has made some plays in recent weeks and found the back of the end zone on Sunday with his lone catch coming as a twenty yard touchdown reception.
Seferian-Jenkins might not have found the end zone but he did haul in five passes and made some key conversions for New York. He did cause the false start penalty to end the game, but the Jets had almost zero chance to win that game and it was clear he was banged up from the previous play.
The good news is he seemed alright after the game which is good because the Jets will need him on Thursday night.
