It was a below average day for the special teams. True, Chandler Catanzaro did make all of his extra points, and Lachlan Edwards had a decent day punting.

However, Jeremy Kerley has put doubt into this unit. After the punt fiasco in week 2 against the Raiders, the Jets put the sure handed Kerley back for punts so that it wouldn’t happen again.

Except, Kerley had not one, but two muffed punt returns and while he luckily recovered one of them, the other led to a turnover and an eventual Dolphins touchdown.

Special teams did no favors for New York in this one.
