New York Jets Week 7 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
The only thing saving this from a failing grade where the interception by Marcus Maye and Jamal Adams making a few big plays in the game such. These were a sack and a pass deflection that led to a Jets interception.
However, the secondary gave up too many big plays especially due to blown coverages. While there were some moments, this was a secondary that allowed Jay Cutler and back up quarterback Matt Moore carve them up.
Let me remind you a backup quarterback who was down by 14 in the fourth quarter carved up the Jets secondary. Is this a great secondary? No, but they have been solid all-season and were woeful on Sunday.
Many Jets fans were probably wishing the team would forget Buster Skrine at the airport for the return trip to north. Skrine was roasted by Miami wideouts and became a liability in the secondary. In fact three of Miami’s for touchdowns were against Buster Skrine including the two in the final quarter.
While Maye and Adams had their fair share of rookie mistakes, at least they made up for it with some big plays. Another game like this and Skrine may find himself on the bench or looking for another team.
