New York Jets Week 7 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
Sunday was Darron Lee’s best game as a pro. The team finally began using him on the edge and his speed and ability to get to the ball was on full display. He led the team with nine tackles and forced a fumble. However, his one sack was negated by a helmet to helmet hit on Jay Cutler.
Demario Davis had a sack and four tackles, and like the defensive line the pressure from the linebackers was much better than it had been in the recent weeks.
However, the linebackers did struggle in pass coverage especially with tight end Julius Thomas who had 58 yards against the Jets.
However, like all the grades on the list, the grades would have been higher if not for the defense giving up 14 fourth quarter points to a backup quarterback. For a team who wants to be known for defense, the defense has to finish games, and New York wasn’t able to finish the game.
