Buffalo Bills: Analyzing the 2017 season to date
Is Taylor the Guy?
I am so sick of needing to defend Tyrod Taylor.
I have been high him since day one and I have remained high on him since he survived the joke that was the Rex Ryan/Doug Whaley era.
The Bills are 3-2. Okay, yeah, I just talked about how the wins might not be against playoff teams but that still more respectable than 1-4 or 2-3..
Tyrod Taylor played poorly against the Bengals. But Tom Brady struggled against the Chiefs, are Pats fans calling for him to be benched? Only the irrational ones.
Tyrod played bad against the Panthers I’ll admit that. A loss is a loss but if were being knit picky, Tyrod was only a dropped pass away from winning that game too.
If Tyrod played worse than Siemian, then they don’t beat the Broncos like they did.
If Tyrod was as reckless with the football as Matt Ryan was, the Bills don’t beat the Falcons.
The Bills are all but open about building for the future. They are 3-2 in second place more than 25% through the season.
The Bills’ defense is elite and will remain that way.
But without Tyrod Taylor do we really think the Bills would be competitive? Do we really think they would have beaten the Broncos and Falcons and maybe even the Jets? No.
Tyrod Taylor, is a good NFL QB. I’m not going to push the envelope and say he is elite and I’m not going to push the envelope and say he will take them to multiple Super Bowls.
But I can and will say this: Tyrod Taylor has done his job and the Bills are right in the playoff race.
Their 3-2 record is good enough to be right in the playoff race and that is regardless of all of our opinions.
So yes, the Bills’ wins may not age well over time and look less and less impressive each week, as their losses, but 3-2 is 3-2.
Will the Bills make the playoffs?
