New York Jets Week 6 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
Unfortunately for Austin Seferian-Jenkins, his Sunday will be remembered for what didn’t happen as opposed to what did. A controversial ruling at the goal line where it was ruled Seferian-Jenkins didn’t have control of the ball as he crossed the plane, resulting in a touchback for the Patriots, ruined the day for ASJ and the New York Jets.
While I personally disagree with this call, it’s a shame that this not only likely cost the Jets the game, but overshadowed a great performance.
Even without this touchdown, Seferian-Jenkins had his breakout game with New York and proved he is the team’s best weapon in the red zone. He still found the end zone once and tied for a team-high eight receptions for 49 yards. He would have led New York in catches outright if not for the controversial call.
The good news for the New York Jets that came out of Sunday’s loss? It looks like they have finally found their tight end.
