New York Giants: Odell Beckham Jr. suffered broken ankle in loss to Chargers
Odell Beckham Jr. may be missing for the New York Giants for a long time with a serious injury.
The New York Giants sit at 0-5 after today’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately for them that is not the biggest news of the day. Right now, that distinction belongs to the news about star receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham left today’s game against the Chargers in the fourth quarter on a cart due to a leg/ankle injury. According to Kim Jones of NFL.com (via SNY), it may be quite serious. Then, this tweet was released:
This is obviously bad news for New York. They have no wins and we have seen this offense work, or not work, without Beckham. Eli Manning needs him on the field for his offense to have any chance.

Prior to the injury, Beckham was having a big game, with five catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. Heading into this game, he had posted 20 catches for 205 yards and two touchdowns. He is the leader of this offense on the outside, and without him the offense bogs down.
He may have issues with his antics on and off the field. Odell does have the flair for the histrionics as we all know too well. But with that comes the performances that have been as good as anyone in the league. During the postseason Beckham has come up short, but in the regular season the team revolves around him.
Again, without him the Giants have gotten nothing done.
The Giants are going to be finished if they can’t get a running game going. Wayne Gallman is going to be key going forward. Giants opponents are going to dare Eli to run the football. If Gallman and company can get going, it will open things up for these other pass receivers. If not, it’s over.
