Buffalo Bills: Turnovers Key as Bills Beat Atlanta Falcons
The Buffalo Bills continue to shock the football world. They stunned another team on Sunday after taking down the once unbeaten Atlanta Falcons 23-17.
The Buffalo Bills were able to win their second straight game Sunday, as they topped the reigning NFC Champion Falcons in Atlanta.
There were many reasons why the Bills were able to escape with the W.
The biggest key to victory for the Bills yesterday was their ability to generate turnovers. The Bills were able to pick off MVP Matt Ryan twice and recover a loose fumble and turn them into 13 points. Those 13 points proved to be more than the difference.
Micah Hyde led the defense and now leads the league, with his second and third interceptions of the year.
Rookie Tre’Davious White snagged a Jerry Hughes forced strip sack and returned it for his first NFL touchdown, in what proved to be the biggest momentum shift in the entire game.

The Buffalo Bills, themselves, turned the ball over zero times. The offense has yet to turn the ball over since the first quarter in Week 1 against the New York Jets. This is the longest such turnover-less streak in the team’s history.
Tyrod Taylor played another solid game. The way he protects the football is valuable enough, however, his TD pass and 182 yards helped carry the offense on some much-needed long drives.
LeSean McCoy came back to life a little bit as he took his 20 carries for 78 yards.
The defense, as usual, and now, as expected, played outstanding. The defensive unit really kept the Bills in this game.
They proved tough to pass on again, despite allowing their first passing touchdown all year. The secondary held Matt Ryan to only that lone TD and just 242 yards.
The Buffalo Bills special team unit might be among the best in the league. Steven Hauschka made two more field goals from 50+ yards, along with one more chip shot. His 11 points and two fourth-quarter field goals put the Bills ahead for good.
Notes
Wide receiver Jordan Matthews was injured during the game and on Monday it was announced he needs thumb surgery and is out at least a few weeks.
Ramon Humber, who has been a tackling machine, also got injured and has reportedly broken his hand. He will miss a few weeks.
The Buffalo Bills have thankfully stayed pretty healthy this year. Coach Sean McDermott, however, is a firm believer in the next man up mentality.
Matt Milano will step up in place of Humber, but the pass catcher who will replace Matthews is still up in the air.
