Hold on, let me explain. I know what some of you are wondering why this isn’t an A plus grade. Yes, Chandler Catanzaro had the game winning kick. Yes, the Jets pulled off a great fake punt play for 31 yards. Yes, Jeremy Kerley’s punt return in overtime helped get the Jets into great position to win the game.

All of these are true and the unit as a whole had a great day. However, we are grading the whole game and one sequence in particular. After the Jets pulled off a 31 yard fake punt, the team had a great chance to take the lead at the half with a 45 yard field goal that Catanzaro.

Next: Three takeaways from victory over Jacksonville

The miss negated the fake punt play and cost the Jets the lead going into the half. This has been a problem in Catanzaro’s career with routine misses. He did redeem himself in the end, but with the Jets limited on offense they need to get the points when they can.

This unit’s creativity and coming through in the clutch helped propel the Jets to their second win in 2017.
