New York Jets Week 3 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
It was a great day for the defense as a whole pitching a shutout for over fifty-nine minutes. The linebackers came to play stifling the run game and pressuring Jay Cutler throughout the game. The unit had five tackles for a loss.
Demario Davis led the team with twelve tackles. This unit played well both pass coverage and run defense. Not to mention the outside linebackers were pressuring Jay Cutler all game which explained why Miami struggled to move the ball all afternoon.
The only knock on this unit is the continuing struggles of former first round pick Darron Lee where continues to get dominated in the middle by offensive linemen. The Jets keep trying to play Lee in the middle and while he did show better coverage today, he’s still getting overwhelmed in the run game.
