Here are the grades for the New York Jets in their performance against the Miami Dolphins.

After the New York Jets stunned the world with a 20-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins, here are the grades, starting with quarterback.

B +. . . . Quarterback

If you ever needed a perfect example of what a game manager is, Josh McCown was that on Sunday against the Dolphins. It’s not a stat line that will stand out, but it gets the job done. An impressive 18-for-23 completions for 249 yards and a score, McCown  had the most efficient game for a Jets quarterback in a long time.

Many people will talk about how he moved the ball efficiently with high percentage quick throws that had the Jets offense moving against a solid defensive unit in the Miami Dolphins. However, McCown showed an ability to stretch the field that was barely seen when Ryan Fitzpatrick was quarterbacking last year.

The throw of the day was the perfect laser McCown connected on with Robby Anderson late in the first half for 69 yards. With a limited offense this season, the Jets should take advantage of the speed they now have on the outside. It makes sense that New York continues to take shots down the field, especially if McCown can continue to make those throws.

The only thing keeping this from an “A” grade was the two fumbles that were luckily recovered by the Jets. Another solid performance at the quarterback position by the Jets. It hasn’t set the world on fire, but the fans of the green and white have seen much worse.
