SPECIAL TEAMS

The thing that hurts the most for fans regarding this loss is that the Jets were in this game and had a chance to gain some momentum before halftime. Down 14-10 and with the Raiders punting the team had a great chance to build momentum heading into the second half. Instead, Kalif Raymond wouldn’t let a punt go out-of-bounds and would fumble the ball inside the Jets five yard line. The Jets then trailed 21-10 at the half and the game snowballed from their.

The turning point of the game came from a muffed punt and for a team that cannot afford mistakes if they want to compete. The only reason this grade is not a complete failure is because Chandler Catanzaro connected on both his field goal tries and punter Lachlan Edwards pinned two of his three punts inside the twenty.

Not a bad day for special teams as a whole, however one big mistake was the turning point.

. D. . Special teams.

All in all there were some bright spots in this game. The offense was good enough to stick around for a while. The defense needs to find a way to step up. If they don’t, we will see the Jets reminding us of the Rich Kotite days. Whether you are in favor of the tank or not, nobody wants to see that.
