New York Jets Week 2 Position Report Card
By Nolan Rich
SECONDARY
Considering the Jets secondary had to defend one of the league’s best passing attacks with no pass rush, the did hold their own especially in the first half. Marcus Maye and Jamal Adams continue to show flashes that they are the building blocks for this defense.
However, with the good today there was plenty of bad. Morris Claiborne and the defense held Amari Cooper to four catches for under forty yards, the team did allow Michael Crabtree to haul in three scores and eighty yards. What was supposed to be the weakest part of the defense has been the lone bright spot through the first two games.
The Jets secondary has flashed signs of life while the front seven has been a disaster for the first two games. One thing that will be exciting for Jets fans to watch this season will be Maye and Adams as both have shown they have the potential to be stars in the backend of the defense.
