OFFENSIVE LINE

It was a mixed bag for New York’s buffet busters on Sunday afternoon. The unit had some bright spots in the run game and Dakota Dozier did a good job replacing Brian Winters when he left for an injury. However, the team had to use over six lineman on multiple occasions to get this push in the run game.

While the run blocking improved from last week, the pass protection was not pretty. Against a defense with a less talented defensive front than Buffalo’s and that didn’t throw any exotic blitzes in their, Josh McCown was still sacked four times and was constantly under duress.

Losing Winters for any extended period would be a big blow. The first two weeks have been a mixed bag in both run blocking and pass protection for this unit. It needs more consistency but Sunday was one of those days that the offensive was able to move the ball in spite of the offensive line.
