Here are three keys to a New York Jets victory over the Oakland Raiders.

That was as rough to watch as we expected it to be, wasn’t it, New York Jets fans? Well, the result wasn’t unexpected. Everybody saw what was being done to the roster in the spirit of the rebuild. Winning certainly wasn’t going to come easily. It is still different, however, when the product actually takes the field. We never really “know” what it’s going to look like until the players step between the white lines.

Now we know. Pretty would not be the word to use.

As we look ahead it doesn’t get any easier. Doesn’t it seem like the Jets face the Oakland Raiders every year? It’s hard to remember many years when they didn’t face off. In week 2 they go at it again. This was already a tough team with Derek Carr, Amari Cooper, and Khalil Mack. This year they added “Beast Mode” Marshawn Lynch and they become scary. Last week in their 26-16 victory over the Titans, Carr distributed the ball well enough to have three receivers go over 50 yards. Marshawn Lynch added 76 yards on 18 carries.

This would have been a tough game for New York if they WEREN’T in the middle of a rebuild. Now that they are, it seems like an insurmountable task. But as they say, “Any Given Sunday”. That’s why they play the games, because anything can happen.

It will take a lot for the Jets to pull an upset in this one. They would have to be running on all cylinders and put in an epic performance. It can be done it is just going to take a lot of work.

The main goal is to keep the score under control. If the Raiders start putting up points left and right, there will be no way for the Jets to keep up. If they can keep it low scoring, they have a chance.

Here are three keys to getting that done.
