Run the Football

Nobody expects the Jets to put forth an aerial assault. Honestly, other than Jermaine Kearse, the Jets wide receivers aren’t identifiable in a lineup if you aren’t knowledgeable of the team. They are a talented group of players that are unknown. In addition to Kearse, they will be led by Robby Anderson who flashed in 2016. He can get down the field and fans are looking forward to his sophomore campaign.

What the team does have is an excellent group of running backs. For the time being, Matt Forte is still in New York. We all know what he has done over the years. He is on the down side of his career but he still can run the rock. Bilal Powell is a talented threat on the ground and through the air. We all did see his 85 yard catch and run against the Giants, right? Elijah McGuire will contribute as well after averaging 4.8 yards per carry during the preseason.

The best friend of a shaky passing game is a good running game. It takes the pressure off of the quarterback. If the Jets can run it well, the Bills will come up and try to stop it. With extra defenders in the box, Josh McCown and friends will be able to make connections against single coverage. The defense will remain honest and give the offense the best chance of being effective. They must run the football.
