New York Jets predicted last in the division by FanSided, we react here.

As we have said previously, there isn’t a lot expected of the New York Jets in 2017. The assumption is that the moves that have been made are part of a front office “tank” this year. Most believe they have given up on the quarterbacks in-house and are looking to select one in the quarterback rich draft of 2018. You can purchase a shirt to that effect from our friends at Turn on the Jets if you desire.

One of the greatest things about being in a network like this is that we can draw upon each other’s sites for comparative opinions. Multiple sites do touch on the same topics so we can link up with them to agree or to disagree. With over 300 websites under the “FanSided” umbrella there is a lot of potential collaboration.

Today, we are looking at a piece from the main site, “FanSided” itself. Russell Baxter of the main website wrote his annual NFL preview, including of course, the Jets. It wasn’t a very happy preview, but it was one that was difficult to argue with also. Here is an excerpt:

"The forecast appears pretty dismal for Todd Bowles’ squad. The offense appears to be problem plagued, regardless of who is playing quarterback. And don’t be surprised if McCown, Petty and Hackenberg all get their turn starting at least one game this season. Meanwhile, with Enunwa out for the year, Powell and Forte look like the lone real playmakers on the unit. It’s harsh but realistic. It would be a big-time surprise if the New York Jets didn’t finish last in the AFC East for a second straight year. Once again, it’s rebuilding time for the Green and White."

Again, it is hard to argue with the last place prediction. The Bills should be right in that competition as well. Exchanging Sammy Watkins for Jordan Matthews as the top wide receiver playmaker is not exactly exciting. Robby Anderson deserves a bit more credit as a playmaker as well. He has shown enough to be considered someone worthy of that distinction, even if not as highly as Matt Forte or Bilal Powell. Will it bring them out of the AFC East cellar? Probably not, but the offense just isn’t as dreadful as it make look on paper.

The defense will keep them in games, there is no doubt. Then, who knows what can happen? This will be a feisty team that competes.
