Yes folks, you reading this correctly, the Yankees have a chance to win the division. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think they had a chance but with a few wins, and some Red Sox losses, they find themselves just 2.5 games back from the top spot.

Slumps happen my friends! It’s just a matter of how teams capitalize that make them even worse.

With the Sox struggles, maybe now it’s the Yankees turn to capitalize on a slump.

There is a spark about a team this young that makes it have a certain type of, “Never say die,” attitude. The New York Yankees were down, but weren’t completely out. By taking three games from the Sox, it has put them right back in it.

There is more to the Division than meets the eye at this point. Sure, it’s only a 2.5 game difference, but those 2.5 games are going to play such an integral part in the future of these two young teams.

These are archrivals with young blood, and this will just put gasoline on a larger fire. The Red Sox stronghold on the division is gone.
